Meet the Creators and Hosts
-
Gabrielle Querrard is an ancestral Virgin Islander of French descent, whose lineage in the Caribbean spans centuries. Born into a family where storytelling was a sacred practice, Gabrielle grew up immersed in narratives that wove together political, cultural, historical, economic, and folkloric themes. In the Caribbean, oral tradition has long been more than a means of sharing stories—it is a profound act of resistance, a way to preserve identity, counter colonial erasure, and challenge socio-economic and religious oppression. Gabrielle embodies this ethos, recognizing that the survival of oral tradition is essential to safeguarding the soul of Caribbean culture.
Driven by a passion for historical analysis and cultural preservation, Gabrielle began creating social media content exploring the depth and diversity of Caribbean history, with a specialized focus on spirituality and folklore. This work reflects a commitment to ensuring that the stories of the Caribbean are not only remembered but honored in ways that resonate with modern audiences.
When Paulina Creque approached Gabrielle about co-creating the Caribbean Mystics podcast, it was a natural extension of this mission. The podcast celebrates the often-overlooked yet vital elements of Caribbean culture, particularly supernatural narratives and the ancestral voices that continue to shape the region’s identity. Through Caribbean Mystics, Gabrielle and Paulina enshrine these stories for future generations, keeping alive the oral traditions that connect the past to the present and future.
At its heart, Gabrielle’s work reflects a profound love for their community and a belief in the transformative power of storytelling to inspire, educate, and heal.

A lifelong nerd for the paranormal and a true storytelling enthusiast. She loved the idea of having a podcast that blends her passion for the unexplained with the rich oral traditions of the Caribbean. Now, through Caribbean Mystics, she continues that tradition with Gabrielle, sharing eerie, mysterious, and fascinating tales from across the Caribbean. In addition to co-hosting, she handles the audio production side of the podcast. As a music and production major, her skills have become a vital element to the show ensuring each episode is as immersive as the stories themselves.
